Free participation in Essay writing Competition in World Space Week Competition by ISRO

Competition Name: World Space Week Competition 2020

Theme: 

Space Technology is a broad theme. The topic/theme for the essay writing competition will be announced on the competition day as mentioned in the below table. Essays which are not inline with the topic/theme will be rejected.

Where and how is World Space Week celebrated?

World Space Week consists of space education and outreach events held by space agencies, aerospace companies, schools, planetaria, museums, and astronomy clubs around the world in a common timeframe. World Space Week is coordinated by the United Nations with the support of the World Space Week Association (WSWA). The WSWA leads a global team of National Coordinators, who promote the celebration of World Space Week within their own countries.

SDSC SHAR will be celebrating the World Space Week (WSW) 2020 via Online platform from 4th to 10th October 2020 across 4 states - Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu and Telangana. The celebrations will be commencing with an inauguration at Sriharikota.

Eligibility:

• Students currently studying in 5th to 12th classes.
• This competition will be organized in the 4 zones and that zone is divided in the Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu and Telangana. So the students of the Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu and Telangana are eligible to participate.

Prizes:

• Three students from each category will be declared as winners in each State for each language category.
• Consolation Prizes will be awarded for each category and Statewise.
• Participation Certificates will be given to all the entries of the competition.
• A valid gmail ID is mandatory for participating in the event
• Only students studying in Classes 5th to 12th can participate.
• The number of words in the Essay is limited to 1000 words.
• Interested participants shall register for the competition on or before 05.10.2020, 05:30 PM.

How to participate in this event?

• A4 size white paper shall be used. The language shall be in either of the four languages - English,Hindi,Tamil,Telugu
• The event is an online competition. The scanned document of essay shall be uploaded (Max 10 MB) either as .PDF or .JPG in the website or sent to wswsharessay@gmail.com as per schedule provided in the table below
