Where and how is World Space Week celebrated?

World Space Week consists of space education and outreach events held by space agencies, aerospace companies, schools, planetaria, museums, and astronomy clubs around the world in a common timeframe. World Space Week is coordinated by the United Nations with the support of the World Space Week Association (WSWA). The WSWA leads a global team of National Coordinators, who promote the celebration of World Space Week within their own countries.

SDSC SHAR will be celebrating the World Space Week (WSW) 2020 via Online platform from 4th to 10th October 2020 across 4 states - Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu and Telangana. The celebrations will be commencing with an inauguration at Sriharikota.

Eligibility:

• Only College students can register for the event.
• Colleges shall identify a faculty as the focal point for registration and communications.
• Each College can nominate 2 teams.
• Zone will be allocated automatically based on the location of the college.
• Participants should upload scanned copy of Abstract authorized by HOD / Faculty co-ordinator during registration to participate in the Design Competition.
• The following details shall be provided by the College during registration.
• College details: Name, Address, Phone number (with STD code) / Mobile Number
• College co-ordinator details: Name, Contact Number, Email ID
• Student details: Name, Age, Gmail ID, Contact number
• Scanned copy of the Authorized Abstract.
• Confirmation of the participant will be done after verification of the abstarcts.
• The link for uploading the video will be sent to the Gmail ID of the participants
• This competition will be organized in the 4 zones and that zone is divided in the Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu and Telangana. So the students of the Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu and Telangana are eligible to participate.

Prizes:

• Three teams will be declared as winners in each State.
• Consolation Prizes will be awarded Statewise.
• Participation Certificates will be given to all the entries of the competition.

How to participate in this event?

• A valid gmail ID is mandatory for participating in the event
• Each team can have a minimum of 2 students and a maximum of 4 students and a Lecturer/Professor.
• Each college / University can have two teams for participation.
• Each team shall submit the abstract of the model /design duly approved by College Authority.
• Interested participants shall register for the competition on or before 07.10.2020 5:30 PM.
• 100 teams will be selected (based on an abstract evaluation) for participation. The list of selected teams will be published in Website and Communicated by E-mail on 08.10.2020.
• On the day of the competition ( 09.10.2020 ) teams have to upload the video(Max 100 MB) of 5-10 minutes duration detailing the model/design.
• Selected teams has to upload the video of 5-10 minutes duration detailing the model/design.
• Online Link for uploading video will be sent to the registered email ID / made available in website.
• College students within Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry, Tamilnadu and Telangana can participate in the competition
