About Competition:
Experimental skills are foundations of understanding and applying science for mankind. Despite the COVID Lockdown, we bring to the school and college students of India -  NAEST-2020 in a new online format being hosted by IIT-Kanpur under the aegis of our National Coordinator Prof HC Verma (Padamshree). This year before the screening phase we have an innovative programme of mentoring the students over a period of 40 days into honing their experimental skills. All students should definitely register  The best opportunity available to develop experimental skills in India.  
 
Eligibility
School-level: IX-XII class students
University Level: B.Sc. &M.Sc. Students

Instruction for Schools:
There is no upper limit on the number of students ( class 9th  to P.G) who may register from your institution. Kindly give wide publicity to National Anveshika Exp Skill Test (NAEST)so that some Newton gets inspired from India 

Registration Fee:
No FEE

How to participate:

Steps of participation:
  1. Registration: Till 31 July 2020
  2. Screening Test: 9th August (Experiment will be shown and the question will be asked). 
  3. Prelims: This round focuses more on performing experiments and analyzing the data by the participants. Details of the prelims round will have shared with selected candidates
  4. Semi-Final: Prelims winner will get the opportunity of this and will get about its update.
  5. Final: Semi-Final winner will get the opportunity of this and will get about its update.
Prize:

Screening: 
Participation certificate for eligible students participating in screening based on their performance. 

Prelim: 1st – Rs. 1000/-, 2nd Rs. 750/- and 3rd Rs. 500/-, 
( *Based on the performance & discretions of Judges )

Finals: 
 
1. National Winner: Rs 5000/-
2. National First runner up: Rs 3000/- 
3. National Second runner up: Rs 2000/-
  • (These National level prizes are under IAPT-Shilpa Nandkumar Memorial Award constituted for College level and School level NAEST)
  • Opportunity to earn an Experimental skill Certificate from IIT Kanpur.

Important Guidelines: 

1. Student of IX TO XII can participate in this competition.            There is no registration fee.  
2.  This competition is conducted by ANVESHIKA _ IAPT               through online and free of cost.

3. Every participant will get the certificate of participation from      IAPT  signed by scientist prof Dr H C Verma of IIT                    KANPUR. He is a writer of famous book concept of physics      generally called HCV recently awarded PADMA SHRI by          Govt of India.

4. Chances to visit IIT Kanpur and getting nationwide fame.

5. Cash awards at local and national level see details.

6. Being participant you will learn a lot of physics and can ask      your queries till 8 August on the platform. In addition to this,      you will get one innovative experiment to learn every day till 8. August 2020.

Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) is an organization committed to upgrading the quality of Physics Education in India at all levels. National Anveshika Network of India (NANI) is one of its initiative, spearheaded by Padmashree Shri H C Verma, Ex-Prof of physics, IIT Kanpur. At present, there are 26 Anveshika all over India engaged in experimental based PHYSICS teaching and learning. 

NAEST 2020 is an Experimental Test, one of its kind, conducted every year by NANI. All the details are attached herewith for your kind information.

Your students of Std IX to Std XII  and BSc and MSc are eligible for the test, first round of which to be conducted online at https://nani.hcverma.in. NAEST is free of any charges for all the rounds.

Please motivate all your students to register for this test at https://nani.hcverma.in and improve their experimental skills and have rich experience. For the first time, there is no limit on the no. of students who can register from a single school.

Also, for the first time, after the screening round selected students will get a certificate from IIT Kanpur if they score above a cutoff score in Screening round.

One of the major advantages of early registration is that the students can participate in month-long collaborative learning on the MOOKIT platform of IIT Kanpur. Videos of past years’ NAEST and the related questions, other interesting videos of live demonstrations and a robust peer group discussion along with expert comments from resource persons will be some of the unprecedented bonuses.
